Ancient Adventures

Today in young authors, the children have been given an entry form for a creative writing competition.  The theme for the writing is Ancient Adventures and should be based on a historical figure or event of their choice.  Their completed story must have no more than 100 words and the deadline for submissions is 31st March 2016.

Below is the competition website if you want to look at more details.

Skara Brae

In our topic work this week, Alligators have been learning about Skara Brae, a Neolitihic village in the Orkney Islands. They have worked really well in groups, sharing ideas and collaborating over presentation and we will use these ideas next week to write information reports about the remains of the village.

Before then, you might enjoy finding out more using the website in the link below...

I look forward to hearing what you find out next week!

Lotus flowers

In RE today, Alligator class made lotus flowers whilst learning about Buddhist signs and symbols.  Quite a few children were keen to have another go at home so here is a link that will take you to an instruction video.

You will need to make sure that you start with a square of paper.  Good luck!

Curriculum Afternoon

Don't forget that tomorrow is our curriculum open afternoon, we are looking forward to seeing lots of parents there and sharing our hard work from this term!
